In August 2021, Taiwan’s Ministry of the Interior published a report which showed that improved medical standards, food safety, and quality
of life, as well as increased participation in sports and exercise, have led to a long-term upward trend in life expectancy from 79.18 years
in 2010 to 81.32 years in 2020, a record high, meaning that Taiwanese people are living longer.
What is the upper limit of our longevity? Some say that mean life expectancy will continue to increase but it is impossible for humans to pass
this limit. Ten years ago, scientists proposed that fighting diseases associated with aging starts with slowing the damage caused by metabolism.
In a Reuters article, it was noted that progress has been made in this area, with the prediction that the first person to live 1,000 years will be
born less than 20 years after the first person to live 150 years.
Based on regenerative medicine studies, extension of life expectancy and vitality is possible. Research on aging may change the world and
reduce the regret of passing years. But who will lay the cornerstone for a fulfilling and happy life in the future? Are you ready for that?
