The predecessor of the Nanjing Museum was the preparatory department of the National Central Museum, which was founded in 1933.
Nanjing Museum covers an area of ​​85,000 square meters. The museum has over 400,000 exhibits in its permanent collection. The most important exhibit of the collection is full-size armor made of small jade tiles connected with silver wire.

- Shanhaiguan, Shanhaiguan District, Prefecture-level city Qinhuangdao, Province Hebei, opened in 1991.

National Museum of India founded in 1949.
Its collections include artifacts covering over 5000 years of history, from the prehistoric era to modern works of art. The museum has 206,000 objects in its collections.

Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) a private museum sponsored by the Shiv Nadar Foundation opened in 2010.
KNMA presents works from India, the subcontinent and South Asia from the late 19th to the 21st century.
The collection includes over 8,000 works.
The New Delhi location occupies more than 1,670 square meters and the Noida location more than 1,200 square meters of exhibition space.

The Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli (MANN, National Archeological Museum of Naples) opened in 1816.
Main collections:
- Farnese collection, e.g. marbles the Farnese Hercules, the Farnese Bull, jewel collection,

The MoMA library has a collection of 300,000 books primarily on the history of modern art.

Whitney Museum of American Art opened to the public in 1931.
It collects works of 20th-century and contemporary American art focusing on the works of living artists. Collection volume of 25,000 paintings, sculptures, graphics, drawings, photographs, films, videos, installations, new media art representing over 3,500 artists. His collections include works by, among others: Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, Alexander Calder, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Jackson Pollock, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol.

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum was established in 1939 as the Museum of Non-Objective Painting. The museum collects impressionist, post-impressionist, modern and contemporary art. Its collections include works by artists such as Paul Cézanne, Georges Braque, Fernand Léger, Paul Klee.
